Maiden Flight

I only started actual flying on the Learjet 45 in late May. Before that, we had to undergo several simulator training sessions on emergencies handling and general aircraft handling. The first flight ended without too much drama thankfully, abeit with a few hard landings here and there.

The entire training period here should normally not last more than 70 days. Anything more than that, the company will pay us $30 AUD extra per day in terms of meal allowance. However due to the shortage of instructors here, it's pretty normal for the cadets here to exceed that 70 days, which means ... Ka' Ching! Money rolling in everyday for us while we rot away here! hehe.

Anyway, flying in this plane is much like flying the real deal, except without paying passengers and the aircraft itself being much smaller obviously. In a sense, it does prep us up for training in the commercial jets in the fleet. Well, fotos from that day here..........
